Join Jim and Greg as they welcome reassuring news from Dr. Birx about the COVID-19 threat. They also agree there’s a ton of wasteful spending in the relief bill but aren’t sure if forcing members back to D.C. was a great move by Rep. Thomas Massie. And they slam media outlets for believing the U.S. really has more COVID-19 cases than China and wonder whether China is hiding a second spike of the virus.

Gigi Levangie, author and screenwriter, drops by for a chat that covers everything, including Swedish Death Cleaning, the Erehwon Phenomenon, aging in LA, the difference between a collector and a hoarder, and growing up “the crazy white b*tch down the street.” She and Bridget discuss why participation trophies are detrimental to children’s progress into adulthood, the impracticalities of college, why you shouldn’t give all your energy to who is in the White House, and how being a blank slate allows you to learn. Bridget tells the not-to-be-missed story of the Poodle Skirt Incident of 1992. Gigi talks about her career as a writer and how she’s managed to crank out 7 books. It’s a fun, fast and loose conversation between two kindred spirits. Be sure to check out Gigi’s latest book Been There, Married That.

I started a conversation and got some good push back due to I’m not a strong communicator. Let me please share what I have learned from that experience and hopefully clarify how your speech is abridged by Congress. I proposed that my US Representative, when part of the minority party in Congress, cannot speak for […]

I’m going to “borrow” @CACrabtree’s symbology since it seems apt for something that happened to me. I attended a lecture late last year being given by a gentleman from a European nation. He had a prestigious background, having served as an ambassador to the US. The topic of his discussion was how Trump was destroying […]

Most people have heard the mocking of Trump supporters by Rick Wilson on the Don Lemon Show. I challenge him to come on R and either in print or on one of the Ricochet podcasts engage with Trump supporters. I’d be happy to do it one on one. @roblong or @peterrobinson must know someone who […]

In most of the major polls conducted, just about any Democrat candidate beats Trump. According to Quinnipiac, Trump even loses to Socialist Bernie Sanders in Texas. Think about that for a second. Texas. Austin, Texas, maybe. But all of Texas? It raises questions on the methodology of the polling that’s being done. And after all, we all know how accurate the polling was in the 2016 election…until the final poll came in on Election Night…where previous polling in some states was definitely called into question.

The President does not want this kind of impeachment in the future for any Executive. If the Free Speech clause was being applied to restrain Congress then impeachment would ONLY happen as a bi-partisan event. Majority Rule abridges citizens speech. Majority Rule in Congress violates the Constitution. More

So I understand this Joe Walsh fellow is out of the race, no longer competing against President Trump for the Republican nomination. I’d never heard of Joe Walsh until he announced his exit this week; what I’ve heard from him since then makes me glad he’s gone. I know there’s a strong feeling among a […]

Recommended by Ricochet Members Created with Sketch. Sea Change: No One Blaming Iowa on Trump!

I’ve scoured all the usual suspects across the Internet, excluding social media, only because … raw sewage. But neither the alphabet media nor the NY or LA Times nor the Post nor Pravda has attempted to blame Iowa on Trump.

If anything, they seem to be hoping the whole kerfuffle is forgotten before someone ties their performance to a long string of epic political blunders. Like nominating Hillary so she would retire the DNC’s massive debt in 2016, or staging the most ham-handed coup attempt in the history of the republic in the name of protecting democracy. A move so reminiscent of mid-20th-century fascism that their preemptive accusation of fascism against the opposing side signaled their own transparent perfidy.

State of the Union, Pelosi ripping up the speech, the Senate impeachment vote, and the ongoing incompetence of Iowa Democrats. We’ve got it all for you today on Wednesday’s Three Martini Lunch. Join Jim and Greg as they applaud the amazing number of record-low unemployment statistics cited by President Trump in his State of the Union address Tuesday night. They’re also big fans of conservative policy ideas espoused in the speech and note the impressive guests Trump invited and highlighted in his address. In contrast, they also assess House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripping up her copy of the speech right after Trump finished and what is says about Democrats nine months before Election Day. Finally, they have plenty more to say as Iowa Democrats release more than two-thirds of the caucus results but aren’t sure when or if the rest of the votes will be announced.

It’s this aspect of Trump’s character that’s most bizarre and hardest to defend (although I’m sure some will try). Remember him congratulating the CCP on the anniversary of its founding? Remember his (unrequited) bromance with Putin? More

If Trump decided not to give the expected money to the Ukraine would that be legal or not? My understanding is that a President has fairly sweeping powers in relations to foreign policies. Obama is famous for his discretion with Russia and the scraping of a planned and agreed upon missile system in Poland and […]

We’re mostly pro-Trump here, in the sense that most people who express an opinion say they would like to see the current President re-elected in November. I think most of us are willing to admit that the President is a very imperfect man, but that we still prefer the results of a Trump presidency — […]

INT. A TASTEFULLY DECORATED LIVING ROOM The Gold Tooth, staunch conservative and respected Ricochet contributor, has fallen asleep on the couch. The book he had been reading, Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason (in German, naturally), is lying open on the floor. A CD of the complete piano works of George Enescu is still playing softly […]

Even Trump’s staunchest defenders must know in their shrunken and desiccated hearts that he is guilty as charged of attempting to withhold aid to Ukraine to force that country’s president to announce (but not necessarily conduct) an investigation into the Bidens. For purely private, political reasons he was willing to gravely injure an ally engaged […]
