Great interview. This is a hard read, but it reminds me of this discussion with Angelo Codevilla.

The Codevilla TapesThe historian of American statecraft and spycraft and conservative political philosopher Angelo Codevilla talks about the ruling elite, Jonathan Pollard, and the rise of the techno-surveillance state—and the consequent demise of the American Empire

It also reminds me of what Michael Walsh says about the CIA. I don’t know anything about it, but he is very critical of those guys. It seems pretty important.

I like that part about the three things that can happened or whatever. A fair system, exercise power and we win, or exercise power and they win. So many Republicans are so dumb about this. They really need to get over it. Idealism kills right now.

The Ruling Elite screwing up. I say it comes down to this: they did every single thing wrong in the face of the job destruction and wage deflation from automation and globalized trade.

Letting China into the WTO was a disaster. They are a bunch of fascist mafia that want to take over the world. Trading with them should have been limited.

Cultural issues. Listen to the Tom Woods interview of Angelo Codevilla, any contemporary video of David Horowitz, or Michael Walsh in general.

How can you argue with the David Brooks comment? You can’t.

The ending is great too. Republicans need to quit being idealistic about “The System.” It’s a joke. This is made very clear both in this podcast and the Angelo Codevilla interview.

I’m adding this interview to my list of things that explain the world to NTs.

@rufusrjones — It’s amusing to speculate which NTs have really been working for the other side all along, like that conservative professor on The Americans who is actually a Soviet agent. Given what we know about progressives, it’s a virtual certainty they would try something like that.

Look among those “conservatives” who are constantly urging unilateral disarmament; i.e., that conservatives should continue to play by the old rules even after progressives have stolen the ball. And that we should treat our defeats as badges of honor, because they demonstrate our virtue and purity.

And let’s not forget the ones who sneer, “Whataboutism”, when we suggest that the same standards should be applied to both sides.
