And Epstein still didn’t kill himself.

Of course, Gervais is still a pretty far left sort, but it’s nice to see one of them jump out of the corral every once in a while.

I loved the look on Tom Hank’s face at the end.

That’s what made it even sweeter. To have one of their own tell them to their faces that they are full of it.

    Good for him.

This is what a true comic is supposed to do. Remind us all to get down off our high horse.

I haven’t seen much of his work, though I liked him in the Night at the Museum movies.

    LOLing out loud!

We expect the audience to be offended; it’s surprising to me how often they weren’t.

And it was the response to that joke that most surprised me. My bubble’s integrity is obviously greater than I thought, as I just assumed that everyone thinks the “Epstein didn’t kill himself” gag is funny. Not this crowd: I think it might have been the strongest negative of the night.

I’ve always enjoyed Tom Hanks as an actor, and will continue to do so. But what a silly old man he appears to be.

I’m familiar with him only from the British version of The Office, which is terribly funny — and terribly cringe-inducing.

This is one of those cases where I’ll appreciate the message, and not dwell too much on the fellow who delivered it. The message is the part that matters to me. I’m glad the dozen or so people who watched the program when it was broadcast got to hear it.

    Bethany,

I could listen to that monologue fifty times and not get tired of it.

    Heaven, I’m in Heaven.

    Regards,

    Jim

He, Stephen Fry and John Cleese all seem to be non-hypocritical liberals who take freedom of speech and conscience seriously. They take fire from the left for it and yet have stood their ground for years. These three deserve our respect for that.
